The short version

We never connect to your bank. There is no bank integration and no card on file. Splittingly records what people tell it.

Your group data stays in your groups. Expenses are visible to the members of that group and to nobody else.

Ads are contextless. No expense text, amount, category or group name is shared with an ad network.

1 · Who is responsible

Splittingly is operated by Vojtěch Balata, Puškinovo nám. 691/16, 160 00 Praha 6-Bubeneč, Czech Republic. Contact: support@splittingly.com.

The operator is the data controller for the purposes of the GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

2 · What we collect

Account: email address, display name, avatar colour. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the identifier and the email address that provider sends us — nothing else.
Content you enter: group names, member names, expense descriptions, amounts, currencies, categories, dates, split settings, payment records, optional notes, and receipt photographs you choose to attach.
Preferences: language, display currency, colour theme, light/dark mode, text size, notification settings.
Technical: a push notification token if you allow notifications, and standard server logs (IP address, timestamp) kept for security and abuse prevention.

We do not collect contacts, location, browsing history, or any bank or card details.

3 · Why we process it

To run the service you asked for — sharing a group's expenses with that group's members and calculating balances (contract performance).
To send the notifications you switched on (consent, withdrawable at any time in the app).
To show advertising, which funds the free version (legitimate interest; personalised advertising is off by default and requires your explicit consent).
To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interest).

4 · Who else sees it

Other members of your groups see the expenses, names and balances in those groups. That is the point of the product.
Supabase (database, authentication, file storage) hosts the data on our behalf as a processor, in the EU region.
Expo delivers push notifications.
The advertising provider receives only what is technically required to serve an ad. It never receives your expense text, amounts, categories, group names or member names.

We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.

5 · How long we keep it

Account and group data are kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, your profile and login are removed immediately. Expenses you created stay in their groups under "former member", with your personal identifiers stripped, so the remaining members' balances stay correct — this is the only way to avoid silently changing what other people owe each other. Server logs are kept for 30 days.

6 · Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your data, object to processing, and withdraw consent. Deleting the account is available in the app under Profile → Delete account, and also at splittingly.com/delete-account.html. For anything else, write to support@splittingly.com; we answer within 30 days. You may also complain to your national data protection authority.

7 · Children

Splittingly is not directed at children under 13 (under 16 where local law requires) and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8 · Changes

If this policy changes materially, the app shows a notice before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
